We are a charity registered with the Office of Scottish Charity Regulator Tong-Len UK is a charity registered in Scotland (SC036363). Our registered address is 7 Oak Lane, Edinburgh, EH12 6XH.  From the time the charity was registered in 2005, we have been committed to ensuring that we protect the information that we hold for all individuals that have expressed an interest in our work and its privacy.  Please contact us at info@tong-len.org if you have any questions about this policy statement.

What personal information do we collect and how do we collect it?
The information that we hold in our database has been collected through our contact with you as supporters of Tong-Len or if you have expressed an interest to be included in the twice-yearly mailings of our newsletter. When we send out a newsletter to you by email, we have given you the opportunity for you to unsubscribe.

How do we use the information that we hold?
We primarily use the information that we hold about you in the form of your email address in the despatch of the newsletter and in communicating with you concerning the child that you are sponsoring in the Tong-Len hostel and/or a child that is attending the Tong-Len School.

In addition, the data for those supporters of Tong-Len UK, who are eligible and have given us permission to claim gift aid in respect of their donations, is held with the inclusion of their residential addresses. This enables us to complete the returns to HMRC with respect to the claim for gift aid on such donations.

Is your information given to any other parties?
Your email addresses are held on a secure server with our web host, globat.com  We do not exchange any information that we have about you with any other agency. None of your information is ever used for marketing purposes.
