Why not organise an event to support the work of Tong-Len. Although the cost of running the hostels and providing for the children including their costs of attending school are largely covered through child sponsorship, Tong-Len relies on other donations for all its other work, including the work in the tuition tents and the health work in the slum camps. Tong-Len supporters worldwide also enabled the building of the hostel complex and other capital projects (provision of water supply, solar lighting and heating etc).

Volunteer
Teachers
Tong-Len welcomes experienced teachers to volunteer in the Tong-Len school. This may involve teacher training in addition to helping the children in a range of subjects including English, Art, Maths and Environmental/Social Studies.
It is normally expected that volunteers stay for a minimum of 1 month.
Health Workers
Tong-Len operates health clinics in local slums through its mobile health service. Programmes of health promotion, disease prevention and immunisations are run in cooperation with government and other organisations. Tong-Len currently employs a full-time health project officer, a full-time Indian state registered nurse and a laboratory technician. Health workers (doctors, nurses and medical students) are needed to assist the Tong-Len staff in this work.
