Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on the poorest communities, and access to work is often an insurmountable challenge. However, in recent weeks, the ‘Tong-Len Social Enterprise’ project, led by two of our alumni, has found work for 16 people.

Much of this work is of a casual daily nature, but Sunny and Karan are connecting with local employers in construction, cleaning and agricultural sectors to improve the longer term job prospects for this community. Already, this has given people the means to feed their families and brought them one step closer to self-sufficiency.

It is amazing to see two ex Tong-Len students giving back to their community – well done Sunny and Karan!
