Despite the many challenges of the Covid 19 pandemic, the new vocational training centre opened its doors to the first 15 students in October 14th. These students from families living below the poverty line are enrolled in a 6 months electrician training program where they will be taught practical skills that can lead to paid jobs, helping them to become self-sufficient. This introductory scheme would not have been possible without the support of the Fontana Foundation who provide not only financial support but work closely with the Tong-Len team in giving guidance on an ongoing basis.
